MPower Financing Scholarship

MPower Financing is primarily a money lender to international students. But they also offer scholarships to deserving candidates. So, if you’re targeting an MPower Financing-partnered school, read on to know more about scholarship support.
Eligibility Criteria
To get MPower Financing scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria:
You must have a letter of acceptance from, or be enrolled in, a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school supported by MPower financing.
You must be an international student who is legally allowed to study in Canada or the US.

Current Scholarships
MPower offers a wide range of scholarships to international and DACA students. The current ongoing scholarships that you can apply to are:
MPower Global Citizen Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial support to students above 18 years of age currently enrolled at (or have an acceptance from) MPower supported schools. You can win awards of up to $5000 to pursue your career aspirations. Before you apply, here are the key points to note:
Check if your target school is among the 350+ MPower Financing partner schools
Figure out your timeline. The round deadline is October 15th, 2021
Awards: $1000 (Awarded to 2 candidates) & $5000 (Awarded to 1 candidate)
Immigration status:
For students aiming to study in Canadian schools: Candidate must hold a study permit or a permanent resident permit.
For students aiming to study in US schools: Candidate must hold an F1 visa, Green card (permanent citizen) or DACA recipient status.
You’ll need to write a compelling essay .
Women in STEM Scholarship
To promote and support the participation of women in the STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering and Mathematics) fields, MPower financing launched the Women in STEM scholarship. Female students of 18 years of age or above can earn the support of up to $3000 scholarship awards through this annual scholarship. Before you apply, here are some bits to keep in mind:

Awards:
Scholarship award of $3000
Honorable mention of $1000, $1000 & $500
Immigration status:
For students aiming to study in Canadian schools: Candidate must hold a study permit or a permanent resident permit.
For students aiming to study in US schools: Candidate must hold an F1 visa, Green card (permanent citizen) or DACA recipient status.
Documents required:
Proof of citizenship, gender and immigration status (passport and visa)
Admission letter/copy of transcripts
Two brief, compelling essays

Monthly Scholarship Series
This summer, MPower financing launched a series of Monthly Scholarships for the summer. Under this, MPower will be funding the educational plans of 12 international students by awarding scholarships worth $8000. Key points to note if you’re an international student looking for scholarship support are:
You must hold a letter of acceptance from, or be enrolled in, an MPower financing partner school.
Deadline: Last Friday of the month
Awards: $1,000, $500, $500
You must be an international or DACA student to be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
